Cliveaid was set up in 2004 to organise a fund raising event for Clive Burr who we all know as the original drummer in Iron Maiden. Clive now suffers from MS, a disease that eats the central nervous system eventually rendering its victims either immobile or in severe pain. The idea was to help make Clives life a little easier by raising funds and also showing him how much he means to the Rock world.
Cliveaid1 was held at the Ruskin Arms; a great and legendary venue. As the year went on they heard that Clives drum kit was in his shed just providing a home for spiders, and so went to work trying to find a new home for this legendary piece of memorabilia. And what better place than the Hardrock Cafe?! So after various calls to the USA and the rest of the world we managed to sort a testimonial evening out for Clive. November 2005 saw the kit and Clive honoured with a star studded evening at the London Hardrock Cafe.
During this event it was decided that more people than Clive could be helped, with Clive firmly onboard as the first patron. Cliveaid aims to help various other people with illnesses. Forgotten heros of the rock and music world, people we owe our sanity to and those who have helped mould music as we know it.
