Following in the footsteps of Dee Snyder and Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has penned a horror film, entitled Chemical Wedding. The film is set to make its debut at this year's Cannes Film Festival on May 17th, 2008.

Directed by Julian Doyle, who is best known for his editorial work on such Monty Python affiliated classics as The Meaning of Life, Life of Brian and Terry Gilliam pieces including Brazil and Time Bandits, the film is said to be about the reincarnation of legendary occultist Aleister Crowley (yes, the same Crowley made famous in song by Ozzy). Doyle is credited as co-writing the script with Dickenson.

Chemical Wedding stars Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral), Kal Weber, Lucy Cudden, Jud Charlton, and John Schrapnel.

Dickinson's last foray into cinematic horror was a bit part in the 1981 film The Incubus.
